The Kiki and Bouba Effect
This piece is inspired by the psychological phenomenon known as “The Bouba and Kiki Effect,” witch describes how a significant majority of people tend to name the left shape Kiki, and the right one Bouba, when given the choice between the two names.
This piece is a musical interpretation of the shapes, with each movement being based on one of the shapes. Both stylistic elements and even form are derived in one way or another from each of the shapes.
Performed by: Lasey Emmerich, Violin; Corinne Scheidecker, Viola; Aly MacQuarrie, Cello
